That’s a set of questions we get quite often. Providing definitive answers is impossible. What we can do, however, is share an insight from our work and recent annual flagship conference. After DPW2021, here’s a list of the tech that, we believe, has the potential to change the way procurement operates.

Your key trend in digital procurement over the next 12 months?
In our opinion, the key trend will be supply chain resiliency, which will mainly be achieved through transparency and equal access to fair financial services between all players. During the COVID-19 pandemic, companies have realised that consolidating supply chains and squeezing vendors makes supply chains break. Today, procurement teams understand the importance of working together with their vendors and bringing them closer to technology that will make everyone’s work easier, from process automation and collaboration, to accessing insights for better decision making, and better financial services to perform without working capital issues.

Your key trend in digital procurement over the next 12 months?
The adoption of digital procurement will continue to be forced upon even reluctant companies by the sheer power of its economic rationale: you simply cannot afford not to digitize your procurement processes any longer. On top of that, we expect that integrating into existing (legacy) procurement / ERP systems will continue to get easier (APIs-as-a-Service) and more widespread.
